2nd Orientation- and Matching Day – April 6 & 7th, 2006 in Budapest Digital Libraries: Scientific & Scholarly Content

The improvement of the quality of scientific/scholarly content by increasing and spreading knowledge on the enhancement of digital content in well justified, specified contexts will be discussed during the 2nd event of the 4 countries’ initiative Preparing for eContentplus (A, CZ, HU, SK) – 2nd Orientation- and Matching Day. This meeting will show the possibilities and benefits of adoption of the practice of enriching digital scientific/scholarly content with well-defined metadata, through the application of appropriate tools, with a view to enabling quality content-based services.

The further target will be the reinforcing of cooperation between schientific/scholarly content stakeholders & the business.

This Orientation and Matching-Day will offer four elements to you:

1. The Focus Topic: What about status of development in the area of scientific/scholarly content? Which proven tools are there in use? Where are the challenges?

2. The European Programme eContent plus: What are the emphases? What will be supported? What are the experiences and next steps?

3. The Central European Markets: What are the characteristics of the four markets? How is the enhancement of digital content organised? Who are the key players?

4. Matching-Support: Do you want to get to know the latest market or R&D projects? The initiative will offer you support finding partners in Central Europe.

Due to the benefit of the ministries the event will be free of charge.
